UAE Travel Tips for UK Passengers

Everything you need to know before you fly — from visa requirements to making the most of your Arabian Gulf adventure.

Visa Requirements

UK passport holders do not need a visa for the UAE — you receive a free 30-day visitor visa on arrival, which can be extended for an additional 30 days. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry.

Currency & Costs

The UAE uses the UAE Dirham (AED), pegged to the US dollar at 3.67 AED = $1 USD. Costs vary widely — budget around £80–£250 per day depending on whether you seek affordable eateries or five-star luxury experiences.

Best Time to Visit

The best time is between November and March when temperatures are pleasantly warm (20–30°C). Summer (June–September) is extremely hot (40–50°C) with high humidity on the coast. Air-conditioned attractions operate year-round, and indoor activities abound.
